Maronite Foundation Delegation Visits President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace
August 11th, 2026 - A delegation from the Maronite Foundation in the World, headed by Mrs. Rose Choueiry and joined by several members of the Board of Trustees, visited H.E. President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace.
The delegation conveyed the appreciation of Lebanese communities worldwide for the President’s national positions and reaffirmed their full support for his efforts to build a strong, sovereign, and just State. They also expressed the diaspora’s readiness to place its expertise, capabilities, and resources at Lebanon’s service and contribute to its recovery and development.
The delegation also raised the issue of reclaiming Lebanese citizenship, calling for the completion of pending decrees and for the draft law approved by the Council of Ministers to be placed on the agenda of Parliament’s General Assembly at the earliest opportunity. The Foundation stressed the importance of this legislation in reconnecting thousands of people of Lebanese descent with the homeland of their ancestors.
The Foundation reaffirmed that the Lebanese diaspora is a national and strategic asset and that it will continue, through its offices and programs worldwide, to strengthen the bonds between Lebanese abroad and their homeland, heritage, and identity.
