The Beatification of Patriarch Elias Hoyek: A Historic Moment of Faith, Hope and Unity

July 2026 - The Maronite Foundation in the World had the immense honor of participating in the historic ceremony of the Beatification of Patriarch Elias Hoyek, in Dimane, by a delegation led by Mrs. Rose Choueiry and composed of MM. Joseph Estephan, Dany and Aimée Aoun, Jacques Kallassi, Thierry Abi Nader, Michel El Helou, as well as Hiam Boustani, who had the honor of presenting the offerings during the Divine Liturgy.
This day will remain etched in the history of the Maronite Church. It brought together around His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Béchara Boutros Raï, the President of the Republic and the President of the Council of Ministers, accompanied by their wives, many ministers and deputies, all Catholic Patriarchs, dozens of bishops, hundreds of priests and religious, as well as more than 5,000 faithful who came to give thanks to the Lord for this exceptional moment of faith, hope and unity.
In this particularly difficult time that Lebanon is going through, the Beatification of Patriarch Elias Hoyek is a powerful message of hope. It reminds us that the founder of Greater Lebanon continues to inspire our people to remain faithful to their vocation, their identity and their mission, with the certainty that Lebanon will, once again, overcome the trials and regain its greatness.
