The Foundation extends Christmas greetings to Patriarch Rai

The Maronite Foundation of the World paid a visit to Maronite Patriarch Mar Nasrallah Boutros Rai to extend Christmas greetings and well wishes. The delegation included: Honorary President Neemat Frem, President Charles Hage, Vice President Rose Choueiry, Finance Secretary Hassan al-Amil, and members Joseph Feghali, Thiery Michel Abi Nader, Pascale Abou Jaoude and Hiam Boustani.

During the visit, the members of the Foundation updated Patriarch Rai on its work to open new offices in countries that the Lebanese diaspora resides in or further develop current offices that are open in these countries.

Following their visit to Bkerke, the delegation headed to the residence of Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon Monsignor Joseph Spiteri. The delegation thanked Monsignor Spiteri for Pope Francis’ Christmas sermon, where he included an address to the Lebanese people. The delegation also spoke with Monsignor Spiteri about the political and economic crisis in Lebanon and the impact it is having on the living standards, education and health sectors in the country.

After visiting Monsignor Spiteri, the delegation met with Rev. Fr. Abbot Neematalah Hashem at the headquarters of the Lebanese Order of Maronite Monks. Talks between the delegation and Rev. Fr. Hashem focused on ways to increase cooperation and coordination between the Order of Maronite Monks in Lebanon with the orders outside of the country.
