The Maronite Foundation in the World Reaffirms Its Support for Bechara Boutros al-Rahi

On May 8, 2026 - The President of the Maronite Foundation in the World, accompanied by several members, had the honor of visiting His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi to express their full solidarity and support for his national positions, and to reject the media campaigns targeting him and the values he represents.
During the meeting, the Foundation briefed His Beatitude on its projects related to the Maronite Academy, which will take place from August 8 to 23, as well as on the latest developments concerning the Lebanese citizenship reacquisition law, which was unanimously approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers. The Foundation reaffirmed its determination to continue its efforts until the law is adopted by Parliament.
His Beatitude praised the Foundation’s tireless work with the Lebanese diaspora and renewed his confidence and support for its mission, especially as it has been working for the past 18 years to strengthen the ties between the diaspora and Lebanon and to preserve Lebanese identity and citizenship
