The Maronite Foundation in the World Participates in a Solidarity Gathering for Displaced Families in Bkerke
On April 20, 2026 - The President of the Maronite Foundation in the World, Mrs. Rose Choueiry, along with several members, participated in the solidarity gathering held on Sunday in Bkerke under the patronage and in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rahi. The event brought together around 1,000 families displaced from South Lebanon.
The program included the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, followed by a communal lunch in an atmosphere of solidarity and mutual support. The Foundation took part alongside patriarchal associations and institutions working in cooperation with Caritas Lebanon to meet the needs of displaced families, as well as those courageously remaining in the southern villages.
The Foundation also attended the Patriarch’s meeting with mayors, distributed shopping vouchers to families, and shared the lunch with them during this humanitarian occasion.
In addition, the organizers set up a healthcare center to conduct medical check-ups and distribute medications free of charge, alongside offering sweets and various entertainment activities for children.
This gathering reaffirms the steadfast commitment of the Church and the Foundation to continue their humanitarian mission, standing by every suffering family regardless of circumstances, carrying a message of hope, service, and love. It reflects a deep belief in the value of solidarity, the preservation of human dignity, and a dedication to being witnesses of love, instruments of الخير, and messengers of hope in these difficult times.
We fervently pray to Almighty God to protect Lebanon, to bestow His blessings upon it, so that it may rise from its trials, preserve its sovereignty, regain its prosperity, and be granted a just and lasting peace.
