Maronite Foundation in the World Holds Regular Meeting and Outlines Expansion Plans
June 27 – 2024, The Maronite Foundation in the World held its regular meeting with the attendance of its President, Mr. Charles George Hage, Vice President Mrs. Rose Choueiri, and several members of its Board of Trustees, including directors of some of the Foundation’s offices abroad.
After reciting a prayer, Mr. Hage thanked the members for their commitment, efforts, and sacrifices. The ten members of the Board’s executive office were renewed as per the agenda. Attendees were then briefed on the Foundation’s projects and the activities of its offices to date. They agreed to intensify operations in diaspora countries and to open new offices in Peru, Chile, and Bolivia. They also approved the launch of new advertising campaigns targeting youth of Lebanese descent on television and social media to deepen their connection to their homeland and encourage them to register their personal records and reclaim their Lebanese nationality.
The attendees emphasized the importance of continued coordination with diplomatic missions abroad, supporting them in their tasks, as well as coordination with dioceses, institutions, clubs, and associations. In particular, they approved the project to launch the Maronite Academy for the year 2025 and expressed the desire to attract women and youth to join the Foundation.
Finally, after reviewing a study prepared by the Foundation on registered males over the age of 62 whose records remain inactive or without updates, all participants agreed on the need to launch an intensive campaign in Lebanese towns. In coordination with local MPs, mayors, priests, and mukhtars, the campaign will aim to identify emigrants and their descendants, with the Foundation subsequently providing its offices abroad with the available information to contact the concerned individuals and encourage them to update their personal records.
