Visit to His Excellency the Ambassador Abdullah Abi Habib

March 8 - 2024, The President of the Maronite Foundation in the World and the members of its Board of Trustees are pleased to extend their highest expressions of thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Ambassador Abdullah Abi Habib, for the responsiveness of his esteemed ministry and his approval to revoke the decision to close certain Lebanese missions abroad, particularly in Latin American countries. This step comes in response to the Foundation’s repeated appeals and the requests of the diaspora communities, in coordination with the heads of religious denominations, institutions, and Lebanese clubs in these countries.

The Foundation is also pleased to convey to His Excellency the gratitude of these diaspora communities and their pride in this bold and wise decision to revoke the closure, which will strengthen their ties and deepen their attachment to the homeland and to their Lebanese heritage. These countries, after all, represent the largest human reservoir of Lebanese abroad, preserving the memory of Lebanese migration across all its stages and maintaining records of Lebanese citizens in their registers.
