Christmas and New Year Greetings from Maronite Foundation Delegation
On December 22, 2023 Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi received a delegation from the Maronite Foundation in the World, which included members of its Board of Directors, in the presence of the Foundation’s President, Charles George Hage, and its Honorary President, MP Neemat Frem. The delegation came to extend their greetings on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year.
The meeting was an opportunity for the Foundation’s representatives to express their full support for the Patriarch’s positions, which they described as a compass that guides the way forward and corrects the country’s course during this period of disorientation and collapse at all political, social, economic, and financial levels, amid the dangerous and prolonged presidential vacuum.
The Maronite Foundation in the World called on all active Lebanese forces at home and abroad to respond to the Patriarch’s noble efforts aimed at restoring Lebanon’s historical standing among nations that respect their people and work for the good of their citizens. This, they stressed, inevitably requires the regular functioning of constitutional, political, judicial, and administrative institutions, foremost among them the election of a President of the Republic who has vision and the capacity to implement it in cooperation with all people of goodwill in the country. Such leadership, they said, is necessary to revive the Lebanese economy and safeguard Lebanon’s interests amid the shifting political landscape in the region.
The Foundation also emphasized the responsibility of every individual to contribute to easing the suffering of those in need and uplifting their spirits, especially as we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace. It prayed that God may embrace the Lebanese people with His mercy and put an end to the shedding of innocent blood in the region.
